What You’ll Love This TikTok Ramen Recipe

  • Quick & easy. This ramen recipe is one of my favs when it comes to a quick lunch or dinner. It’s similar to my spicy ramen noodles, except less spicy.
  • Super satisfying. There’s just something about a big bowl of tender noodles bathed in a flavorful sauce that hits all the right notes. Scrambled eggs add a simple protein boost that makes this ramen noodle recipe much heartier than a traditional bowl of ramen.

What is TikTok Ramen?

TikTok ramen is a quick meal made with ramen noodles that are cooked, then mixed with a sauce composed of butter, garlic, brown sugar, red pepper flakes and soy sauce. The ramen flavor packet is discarded and instead, the cooked noodles are tossed with the sauce. As a final step, an egg is scrambled in the same pan as the noodles, then it’s all mixed together and topped with everything bagel seasoning.

What Did I Change?

Just like I experimented with the Oreo mug cake trend that was popular a bit ago, I decided to play around with this method of making ramen. Turns out it is simple and tasty! However, I did change the way the eggs were added.

Although I love the idea of scrambling the egg in the same pan as the noodles and sauce, in practice I found that this dried out the noodles. When they were pushed off to the side of the pan to create space for scrambling the egg, the noodles nevertheless remained in the hot pan for a couple of minutes. As a result, the bottom of the noodles became crisp and overall they lost the tender, saucy goodness I was after.

So instead, I decided to make a small portion of my cheesy scrambled eggs first. Then I broke the scrambled eggs into smaller pieces and mixed them with the noodles and sauce until everything was heated through.

The end result was delicious! Tender, saucy noodles and fluffy scrambled eggs topped with everything bagel seasoning is tastier than you’d expect.

Recipe Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make TikTok ramen. This is just a quick overview of the ingredients with my notes, so be sure to scroll down to the recipe card for specific amounts.

  • Unsalted butter
  • Eggs – I used large sized eggs.
  • Shredded cheddar cheese – You can also use a Mexican blend or Monterrey Jack cheese.
  • Ramen noodles – You are just going to use the noodles from a ramen pack. I used Top Ramen noodles.
  • Kosher salt and black pepper
  • Garlic – You can use fresh garlic or garlic paste.
  • Red Pepper Flakes
  • Brown Sugar – Light or dark brown sugar.
  • Soy Sauce – I used low-sodium soy sauce.
  • Everything Bagel seasoning

What is Everything Bagel Seasoning?

Everything bagel seasoning is a mixture of toasted sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dry minced garlic, dry minced onion, and salt. You used to only find it on everything bagels, but when Trader Joe’s started bottling it for sale it became more common to find premade blends. You can use it to make everything bagels, of course, or to add it as a seasoning to everything from ramen and rice to hard-boiled eggs.

How to Make TikTok Ramen

Are you ready to make some tasty TikTok ramen? Here’s how to do it:

  • Bring a small pot of water to boil. You are going to use this to cook the ramen noodles, but make the scrambled eggs first.
  • Scramble the eggs. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a medium pan over medium heat. While the butter is melting, whisk two eggs with a pinch of kosher salt, a dash of black pepper, and two tablespoons of cheese. Pour into the pan with the melted butter. Let it set for about 30 seconds, then gently move the eggs around with a spatula. Continue moving the eggs around in about 15-second intervals until the eggs are scrambled. Stop when they are scrambled but still a little shiny, that way they can finish cooking when you add them to the noodles and sauce. Turn off the heat and scoop the eggs onto a small plate. Set aside.
  • Make the sauce. In the same pan where you made the eggs, melt another tablespoon of butter over medium-low heat. Add the garlic, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, and soy sauce. Mix together, then turn off the heat and set aside.
  • Cook the noodles. At the ramen noodles to your boiling water and cook according to the package instructions. This usually takes 3 minutes for Top Ramen brand noodles.
  • Assemble. Drain the noodles when they have finished cooking and then add them to the pan with the sauce. Turn the stove temperature to medium-low heat. Toss the noodles with the sauce using tongs. Break up the scrambled eggs and add them to the noodles, tossing a few more times with your tongs until everything is warmed through.
  • Serve. Scoop everything into a bowl and top with everything bagel seasoning.

Tip: Make sure that you have scooped all the eggs out of the pan before you start making your sauce. If there are any bits of egg left in the pan, give it a quick wipe-down with water with a kitchen towel. Be careful not to singe your hands since the pan will be hot!

Variation Ideas & Serving Suggestions

This simple recipe is a meal in and of itself, but it is also easy to customize. Here are some ideas if you want to experiment:

  • Chopped peanuts – Roughly chop roasted, salted peanuts then sprinkle some on top.
  • Veggies – If you have veggies in the fridge you want to use up, you can add them to this dish. I have sliced up red bell pepper and briefly cooked it in olive oil with a touch of salt and butter, then added the cooked red pepper slices to the ramen.
  • Meat – This may seem like a strange combo, but steak and eggs are a thing right? And one of my favorite breakfast combos is machaca served with eggs. So I say go for it. You can use leftover steak, birria meat, carnitas, chilorio or even cochinita pibil. Just warm the meat in a separate pan before adding it to the noodles.
  • Spice – Want to add some extra heat? Add a splash of Sriracha or Cholula hot sauce.
